The Pediatric Nutrition Care Manual® (PNCM®) nutrition care sections and corresponding client education handouts are updated on a rolling basis. The reason behind this approach is to provide the most up to date and evidence-based nutrition information as soon as it is finalized, which positively benefits you and your patients and clients.
We will keep you informed of updated nutrition care sections and corresponding client education handouts and you can also access this year-to-date summary anytime.

PNCM® Resources Updates
Based on recommendations from the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and American Heart Association, cholesterol limitations were omitted from the Heart-Healthy (Cardiac) diet in the PNCM Diet Order Terminology and Definitions.
Access information about the Global Malnutrition Composite Score, which is the first nutrition-focused electronic clinical quality measure to be included in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting Program.

Check out the new abbreviated nutrition care sections giving you all the must-have, practice-related knowledge you need with content focused on Practice-Related Guidelines, Comparative Standards, Nutrition Diagnosis, and Nutrition Intervention.

The Normal Nutrition client education section is now titled Lifecycle.
The Malnutrition Related to Undernutrition nutrition care section is now titled Malnutrition and consists of the following topics: Malnutrition Related to Undernutrition and Underweight. Note: The Underweight nutrition care section moved from Weight Management.
The Renal nutrition care and client education sections are now titled Kidney Disease.
